    The luxury Serena Hotel that was regarded as one of the best-protected tourist accommodation spots in Kabul had become a victim of a shooting spree. It is the best protected place in the capital of Afghan where visitors often come for brunch or dinner. Sheltered behind a non-descript wall, the hotel restaurant was stuffed in with Afghans celebrating the eve of the Persian New Year at the time of the attack. The four gunmen yet such a security walked in making their way inside the restaurant and killed nine people. Claiming responsibility on Taliban for the attack, it was delivered that the act was an attempt to create violence as a disruption for the April 5 national elections.

    In a series of high-profile attacks by the Taliban and allied militants, Serena Hotel’s shooting spree is one of the latest where they pulled out their hidden revolvers, ammunition from their shoes and socks and began firing diners killing down nine people. It included shooting a widely respected 40-year-old AFP journalist, his two children in the head and wife,two Canadians vowing up a campaign of violence. Six people including Afghan lawmaker , a hotel guard, foreigner and two policemen were severely wounded in the attack.

    Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid in the revert of claim marked a statement that it depicts that “our men”, if they decide to attack any place, they can do it.”
    The attack was specifically intense as the Serena Hotel was seen as one of the safest sites for civilians in the capital. The entrants to the hotel are made pass through a security room at the main gate where they are supposed to undergo a metal detector test and carry bags are put through an X-ray machine. The officials are still astonished about how the weapons went undetected. The photos of small pistols and weapons which the attackers used were also displayed at a press conference by Sediqqi

    After a three-hour standoff, police people killed all four attackers who appeared to be around 18 years old.
